Nuestra historia

Estamos de regreso a principios de la década de 1970 en Tecpán, Guatemala. Mi esposa y yo compramos un terreno en el área con la intención de construir una casa de campo a la que pudiéramos escapar y eventualmente retirarnos.

Bueno, como puedes imaginar, no es exactamente así como resultó ser…
Poco después de comprar la tierra, nos involucramos mucho con la comunidad y queríamos contribuir a su desarrollo y crecimiento, por lo que decidimos comenzar a cultivar la tierra.

Indirectamente, este fue el comienzo de Epicure tal como es hoy.

¿La idea? Crear un espacio y las condiciones necesarias para generar oportunidades laborales para los miembros de la comunidad Tecpan.

Buenas Vibraciones

En total 650m² de decoración artesanal, mezcla de estilos y colores.

La Granja

La finca cumplió ambas misiones; proporcionó empleo a 48 miembros de la comunidad. Pero, para que el proyecto fuera autosostenible, era necesario establecer operaciones que redundaran en beneficio de la producción de la finca.

Aquí es donde entra Antigua. Con su mercado de alojamiento y comedor, Antigua era el lugar ideal para vender los productos de la granja. La presencia de Epicure en Antigua comenzó como una planta procesadora de productos cárnicos fríos; luego se convirtió en una tienda gourmet que vendía los productos de la finca y, finalmente, después de una reubicación, se convirtió en lo que es hoy Epicure: un restaurante, una tienda gourmet y una planta procesadora, todo en un solo lugar.

Aunque se encuentra a 33 millas al sureste de Tecpan, Epicure continúa brindando oportunidades de empleo a los miembros de la comunidad de Tecpan, al mismo tiempo que contribuye al crecimiento y desarrollo general de Tecpan al proporcionar todas las ganancias de Epicure a la Fundación Educa Pueblo Viejo.

I went for dinner with my partner and we had an amazing experience. The attention is great and the food is delicious. In addition, they sent us an appetizer and a small dessert courtesy of the house, which we were not expecting. Very grateful, I highly recommend it.In the garden there are some tables that give a very romantic atmosphere, especially at night.I ate the eggplant lagaña and I drank a Shiraz wine from Argentina.10/10.

Picture this, you wander off a shuttle looking for a bathroom. You wander in Epicure (it's the nicest place around by far, with a delicious bakery in front that initially drew us in). The lady at the front is so nice, you say "Si" and she takes you to the back where there is an OASIS of a restaurant. My brother I sat at the back, under some sort of beautiful palm tree and ate maybe the best pizza I have ever eaten. It had pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, and tomatoes and it was not expected in Antigua and a coke. We got a small soup before the pizza and were treated with a small cocoa chocolate at the end, SO UNEXPECTED. The waitress was perfection.The owner, John, came and spoke with my brother and I and he was such a wonderful man. He spoke with wisdom and integrity and was really a great man to have bless me with his words. Our server was equally as special and I wished I had gotten her name. We stayed and enjoyed ourselves for longer than expected and felt welcomed the whole time. 10/10 would recommend to EVERYONE IN GUATEMALA!Thanks, John Mellen!

We had a wonderful lunch at Epicure. The staff was incredible and the food was delicious. The menu was well marked for gluten free needs. The gluten free bread was fantastic! And it was great for kids. They have a changing station in the bathroom which is hard to find in Antigua! We will definitely be back!

Portions served are adécuate, good taste , nice environment. I wish they knew how to make flipped starry eggs, but overall great time.

AMAZING! Got a gluten free sandwich and could not believe how amazing the bread was. I even double checked with the waiter it was GF because of how good it was. I’ve never had bread like that in my life all over the world. The fries were also some of the best I’ve ever had!Much more expensive than other restaurants but worth every penny. I will definitely be going back while I am here!

Wonderful garden atmosphere! I had the Lasagna, and it was spectacular. The tables are spaced in the outdoor patio garden with lots of privacy. Birds were happy and chirping. What a lovely oasis.
